The life sketches of world's great scientists like Issac Newton, Albert Einstein, Srinivas Ramanujan, Jagdish Chandra Bose, Satyendra Nath Bose, etc. are contained in this book. In all 31 leading scientists of the world are covered. Noticeably, out of these, 16 scientists are Euro-Americans and 15 scientists are from India. In spite of great number of scientists, India lagged behind Europe in development. The reason being, the western world took full advantage of the scientific inventions and discoveries in the development of their technology while India could not make enough efforts in this direction.

This is the latest book written by Dr. Arvind Arora. It starts with the birth of Homeopathy in Germany by Samuel Hanemann in 18th Century. This science arrived in India in 19th Century. The book continues to describe the development of Homeopathy in India and Uttar Pradesh with special emphasis on contributions of Homeopathy students and teachers in Kanpur. To achieve their rights, the students even went to jail. Without their sacrifice, the Homeopathic medical science could not have achieved its goal. How this goal was achieved is described elaborately in the book.

Vish Kanya is the second short story collection by Dr. Arvind Arora 'Mukt'. The collection contains 24 stories and 'Vish Kanya' is the thirteenth story in it. The first story 'Kabadi' besides an intimate tale of the life of a Kabadi also seeks the origin of the word Kabadi. The story 'Karva Chouth' depicts deep faith of Hindu women in fasting, even in present age of twenty-first century. 'Chak De Phatte' also enunciates the origin of the words Chak De Phatte coming from ancient History of Mahabharat times. Napolean was one of the greatest army commander of the history. He was active in late eighteen cenury and early nineteenth centrury. Starting from a soldier, he became finally the emperor of France. The whole of Europe, except Russia and England was under his Empire. His biggest mistake was to attack Russia, which he could not capture. It started his downfall and finally he lost the battle of Waterloo. He was deprted to St. Helena, an island near Africa, where he died. These aspects have been described in this book elaborately which makes it an interesting reading.

About Me

Born in Kanpur, U.P., India on December 23, 1940. Graduated in 1959 from D.A.V. College Kanpur. Completed Homeopathic Education in 1973. Worked as Lecturer in Homeopathic Philosophy at Kanpur Homeopathic Medical College from 1973 to 1975. Was Homeopathic Medical Officer in U.P. Government Health Services from 1975 to 1998 and posted at Chamoli, Hamirpur, Uttarkashi and Dehradun.

Started writing books in 1980. So far written Short Stories, Novels, Essays, Plays, History Books, Biographies, Autobiography, Child Stories, Travel Memoirs, Satire and Fantasy.

Currently, living at Indira Nagar, Kanpur. Engaged in writing books and practicing Homeopathy strictly according to the true principles laid down by founder of Homeopathy Dr. Samuel Hahnemann giving only one medicine at a time.
